Relational database providers

Infor EPM can connect to various data sources for use as a business database.

To connect to a database, run commands, and retrieve results, a database provider is required. For example, for Microsoft SQL you must use the database provider for SQL.

See "Relational database systems" section in the Hardware and Software Recommendations for information on which providers are supported as business databases.

For information on how to add a relational database provider see "Adding a relational database provider" in the EPM Administration section.

You must install the SQL Native driver on the Infor EPM server.

Note: SQL Server Native Client (version 11.0) is not included with Microsoft SQL Server 2022 (16.x) or later. For more information about SQL Server, see https://learn.microsoft.com/.

For optimal performance, ensure these Microsoft SQL Server protocols are enabled:

  • Shared Memory
  • Named Pipes
  • TCP/IP

Users who access business databases for Application Studio reports must have these roles:

  • db_datareader
  • db_datawriter
