Minimum configuration

In a business application, you are prompted to use Business Modeling if the database does not have the minimum configuration to create a configuration set.

The minimum requirements for Workforce Budgeting and Budgeting & Planning are different from those for Financial Consolidation.

For Workforce Budgeting and Budgeting & Planning, these components are required:

  • Calendar settings
  • At least one active currency
  • At least one entity
  • For the Balance Sheet module:
    • At least one type A base account
    • At least one type A parent account
    • At least two type L or Q base accounts
    • At least one type L parent account
    • Valid settings for Profit and Loss/ Base Account and Retained Earnings - Profit and Loss, with distinct base accounts of type L or Q.
  • For the Profit and Loss module:
    • At least one type R base account
    • At least one type R parent account
    • At least one type E base account
    • At least one type E parent account
    • Valid setting for Result of Profit and Loss, with a parent account of type R

For Financial Consolidation, these components are required:

  • Calendar settings
  • At least one active group and entity currency
  • Entities, for the purpose of eliminations:
    • For intra segment eliminations, at least one entity. This requires the use of at least one segment, such as a profit center. Intercompanies cannot be used.
    • For intercompany relations, at least two entities. Use of segments in this case is optional.
  • At least one group
  • For the group accounts see the requirements for accounts. Group account mapping is required when group accounts are used.
  • For the accounts, group account mapping is required. These accounts are required for both accounts and group accounts:
    • Balance Sheet Accounts:
      • At least one type A base account
      • At least one type A parent account
      • At least one type L base account
      • At least one type L parent account
    • Profit and Loss Accounts:
      • At least one type R base account
      • At least one type R parent account
      • At least one type E base account
      • At least one type E parent account
  • A completed module configuration
