Managing attributes
You can add, edit, and delete attributes.
- Select Dashboards > Data Integrations > OLAP Modeling.
- Select the model and then the dimension for which to manage attributes.

On the Attributes tab, perform these
actions as required:
- Click Add.
- Select an attribute in the grid and click Edit.
- Select an attribute or multiple attributes in the grid and click Delete.

If you add or edit an attribute, specify or update this information
respectively:
- Name
- Specify the attribute's name.
We recommend that you avoid using spaces in the name.
- Default Caption
- Specify the attribute's default caption to display.
- Attribute Table
- Select the attribute table to which to add the attribute field.
We recommend that you organize attribute fields thematically.
- Type
- Select one of these attribute data types:
- String
- Number
- Date
- Boolean
- Width
- If you selected the String data type, specify the maximum width of the string.
- Whole number places / Decimal place
- If you selected the Number data type, specify the maximum whole number places and decimal places.
- Use as Element Caption for language
- If you selected the String data type, optionally, select this check box if the attribute field is used as an element caption in another language.
- Language
- If you selected the Use as
Element Caption for language check box, select the
language for which the attribute field is used as an element
caption.
You can select any available language of your application. You cannot select the same language for multiple attribute fields.
- Order Position
- If you add an attribute to a dimension, this field is optional. If you leave it blank, then it is displayed as the last attribute field within the selected attribute table.
- Select Source Column
- Select this option if there is an existing source column that contains values for the attribute field in your data table for elements. Select the source column from the list in the Column Name field.
- Create Source Column
- Select this option to allow creating the source column for the attribute field values by the system. The column is created with the name of the attribute field in all related data tables for elements of the dimension.
- To add or update the attribute, click Save.
