Editing Staging table schemas
In the Staging database, you can create, edit, and delete custom tables. Tables that are
created by the system, for example the log tables, cannot be edited.
The Staging database is used for custom staging, for example for preparing data before loading to Integration tables, or for loading to OLAP cubes and dimensions. In Staging, you can perform these actions:
- Create custom tables
- Create custom tables and add their schemas
- Create load queries to load data into Staging tables
- Create scripts to manipulate data in Staging tables
- Create non-SQL scripts to execute data loading and mapping tasks
- Edit element tables, using the dimension view of a table
- Delete individual tables, in Tile view, or multiple tables, in Grid view
To load data from Staging tables to OLAP cubes and dimensions, create cube and hierarchy mappings in the Edit Database dashboard.
