Scripts

Relational modeling supports two types of script:

SQL scripts, for editing staging data
Non-SQL scripts, for scripting of functions

SQL scripts can be parameterized with the use of custom settings. Relational modeling automatically translates custom settings to SQL parameters. This reduces the risk of SQL-injection.

Caution:

Scripts are canceled after 2 hours. Do not develop scripts that take longer than that to run. In the Query Timeout field, in the properties of the Modeling Service, you can specify a time-out, which applies to queries, scripts, and mappings, up to a maximum of 2 hours.

A banner is displayed while scripts and load queries are running. In the banner, you can cancel scripts that you are running, or which another user is running.
