Designer
Designer is available in on premises and single tenant installations as the modeling tool for Infor Budgeting & Planning and for custom applications. Designer is not available in multi-tenant Infor Cloud environments.
In on-premises environments, Designer databases must be created manually by using a script.
See "Creating a new Designer database" in the "Designer" section.
Be aware of these differences between Designer in a classic BI 11.0 installation and in Infor EPM services:
- It is no longer possible to manage several models in a single Designer database. Use only one model per Designer database in new projects.
- In Infor BI 11.0, rules were typically developed with rule-building features in OLAP Administration. Rules are now created in EPM Administration, using the Edit OLAP Database dashboard. The resulting rule expressions can be then copied to Designer.
- The user, roles, and permission management user interface has been removed
from Designer.
User and permission management can be done only in EPM Administration, using the User Management dashboards.
OLAP data roles are created and managed in EPM Administration, using the OLAP Data Roles dashboard.
- Role or user synchronization works only from Repository to Designer.
