Database Backup settings

You can specify that an OLAP database is automatically backed up. You can also specify the minimum interval between backups. The maximum interval is seven days.

You can trigger a backup of the database manually at any time by clicking Backup Database Now and specifying a name for the backup. You can specify the maximum number of manual backups to keep. The absolute maximum number is 30. The Backup Database Now button is disabled when the current maximum number is reached or while this number is changed.

Note: The database is saved before it is manually or automatically backed up. The same issues apply about possible delayed starts of the operations and potential time-outs.
  1. Select Dashboards > OLAP > Save and Backup.
The Database Backup widget shows the time at which the next backup is scheduled and the time elapsed since the last backup. The Last Backup field does not distinguish between manual and automatic backups.
  2. In the Databases widget, select the database to administer.
  3. In the Database Backup widget, select Backup Database Automatically.
  4. Select the appropriate time zone and specify this information:
    First Backup at
Select the time at which the database is first backed up.
    Backup Interval
Specify the number of days after the first backup, at which the database is next backed up automatically.
    Maximum Number of Backups
Specify the maximum number of automatic backups to keep. The absolute maximum number is 30. When the current maximum number is reached, the oldest backup is deleted before the next backup operation takes place.
  5. Click Save Settings.
