Uploading metrics

This procedure is common to all metrics.

You can upload .xlsx, .xls, .csv, and .txt files.

To ensure the correctness of the uploaded file, we recommend that you use the .xlsx template provided in the Upload dialog box.

  1. Depending on which metric to upload, select Metric Management > Foundational metrics or Metric Management > Calculated metrics.
  2. Click Upload.
  3. Drag and drop the file to the dialog box or browse to the file and click Open.
  4. Select one of these options:
    Option Description
    Add/Update Add the imported metrics to the existing metrics.
    Caution: 
    Existing records are updated with the values from the uploaded file. You can protect manually edited properties from update in the Manual Adjustments step of the wizard.
    Replace Replace all existing metrics.
  5. If you selected the Replace option, proceed to step 8. If you selected the Add/Update option, click Next.
  6. If there are manually edited properties that you want to preserve, select the check boxes of those properties.
  7. Optionally, to ensure that the selected properties are protected during future uploads, select Save settings as default for this business object.
    Your saved settings are written to the Manage Properties dialog box. To view or update the saved settings, select Columns > Manage Properties and switch on Import Settings.
  8. Click Upload.
    The upload fails if the source contains invalid data. The Result page shows the number of invalid records, their row numbers in the source file, and the reason for failure.
  9. Optionally, click Save Log File to save the log to a text file. In addition to the row numbers and reasons, the text file shows the column names and the details of the failed rows.
  10. Click Finish.
