Defining the legal entity ownership
You can define the percentages for ownership and control of entities.
- Select Parameterization > Group Parameterization > Legal Ownership > Legal Entity Ownership.
-
Specify the configuration set, version, period, entity, and intercompany. You
can specify multiple entities and intercompanies.
To ensure that complete information is displayed, we recommend that you specify all available entities in the Entity (Owner) field and all available intercompanies in the Intercompany (Owned) field. To narrow down the displayed information, you can use the table header filters. This ownership and control information is displayed in the table:
- Entity (Owner)
A relationship towards another entity exists. An owner may be a parent entity, but not necessarily. An owner has shares of another entity.
- Intercompany (Owned)
An entity whose shares have been bought by another entity.
- Current Ownership
Ownership percentage in the current period. It is the same as the total ownership of the previous period. Therefore, no changes are considered.
- Change Ownership
One or multiple changes in ownership. For example, an increase or decrease.
- Total Ownership
Total ownership including saved changes to the ownership in the current period. Changes that are saved as a draft are not considered.
- Current Control
Control percentage in the current period. It is the same as the total control of the previous period. Therefore, no changes are considered.
- Change Control
One or multiple changes in control. For example, an increase or decrease.
- Total Control
Total control including saved changes to control in the current period. Changes that are saved as a draft are not considered.
- Ownership Status
An ownership status can be either saved and written to the relational and OLAP databases or saved as a draft and written only to the relational database. You cannot delete a saved ownership change request, but you can revert it to a draft and correct data in the draft. Changing a saved ownership change request to a draft deletes the request's data from OLAP for the selected and future periods. Deleting an ownership change request that was saved as a draft deletes also its saved-as-draft participation information.
- Participation Status
A participation status can be either saved and written to the relational and OLAP databases or saved as a draft and written only to the relational database. You cannot delete saved participation information, but you can revert it to a draft and correct data in the draft. Changing a saved participation information to a draft deletes the participation information's data from OLAP for the selected and future periods.
This information is only at the entity level, independent of group membership.
You can expand each row in the table. To expand a single row, click the plus icon in the Entity (Owner) column. To expand all rows in the table, click the Ownership Rows button. The top row shows static information about an owner-owned relationship. The expanded row or rows show changes in ownership or control, or both.
The total ownership or control must be from 0% to 100%. We recommend that you select one parent entity and all subsidiaries at the same time. After you have assigned ownership and control to the first parent entity, then you can switch to the next one.
From the grid, you can change to drafts saved ownership change requests and their saved participation information within one or multiple entity-intercompany relationships. Select the check boxes of the relationships that contain saved ownership change requests or saved participation information, or both and click Change to Draft in the grid's contextual toolbar. The Change to Draft option updates all saved change requests and their saved participation information within the selected entity-intercompany relationships in the selected and future periods.
You can change a saved change request or participation information to a draft independently of each other on the Ownership Change Request page. In the grid, select the relevant change request and click Details. Then, on the relevant tab, click Change to Draft. Changing a saved change request to a draft updates all saved change requests within the relevant entity-intercompany relationship in the selected and future periods. Similarly, if you change saved participation information to a draft, all saved participation information within the relevant entity-intercompany relationship is updated in the selected and future periods.
Note: You can change a saved change request or participation information to a draft only if the selected period is open and future periods are open or not started. You can delete one or multiple ownership change requests from the grid. Select the check boxes of the relevant ownership change requests and click Delete in the grid's contextual toolbar. You can delete only saved-as-draft ownership change requests and only if they have saved-as-draft participation information or no participation information.
