Compare report

Before a local package is deployed into a target tenant, run the Compare report to compare the items in a package against the data in the target tenant. With this comparison, you can preview the changes that are going to be done in the target tenant during the deployment process.

The Compare report provides a list conflicting applications in the target tenant. If you chose to continue the import although an application already exists, this is how the content of the imported application is merged with the existing application:

Application Studio reports Already existing reports with the same name are overwritten.

New reports are added.

Dashboards Already existing dashboards with the same name are overwritten.

New dashboards are added.

Application Engine processes Already existing processes with the same name are overwritten.

New processes are added.

OLAP database Already existing cubes and dimensions are skipped.

New cubes and dimensions are added.

Application roles Already existing application roles are overwritten, replacing the permissions and ranking definitions. Users and groups that have been assigned to the roles in the target tenant persist.

New roles are added.

Data roles Already existing data roles are overwritten, replacing the permissions definition. Permissions in access cubes are not affected. Users and groups that have been assigned to the roles in the target tenant persist.

New roles are added.

Data connections The configuration of existing data connections is not affected.

New data connections are added.

Custom settings The values of already existing custom settings are overwritten.

New custom settings are added.
