Overview of Infor EPM data integration
The Data Lake data integration of structures and financial data is intended for an initial bulk load, or frequent loads from internal or external source systems. Data Lake supports data uploads from various sources, such as the chart of accounts from a financial system or position information from a human resources system. Typically, data is loaded into an initial structure at the beginning of a configuration set. This is followed by incremental updates of both structure and data.
Relational modeling in EPM Administration enables you to load data from ION Data Lake into Staging or Integration tables.
Staging tables enable you to tailor tables to your needs and are typically used for transformations and data cleansing before loading data to Integration tables. Integration tables have a fixed structure that cannot be changed and which fits the needs of the Infor EPM business applications.
Financial data and structures are published from integration tables to OLAP through Business Modeling. Business Modeling is the tool within Infor EPM business applications to model the application structures. Business Modeling ensures the consistent handling of all business-related structures.
Infor EPM business applications use the Infor EPM OLAP database to store financial and workforce data.
This diagram shows a two-way flow of data between the source system and Infor EPM:
The source system data is loaded to Data Lake through ION and then from Data Lake to Infor EPM. In the opposite direction, data from Infor EPM is sent through ION to the source system in the BOD format.
