Selective data load from the business perspective
Selective data load is performed regularly, typically monthly. For this type of data load, a source system must be in sync with Data Lake, which is a single source of truth for data and metadata within Infor EPM.
This table shows high-level steps to perform a selective data load. Typically, steps 4 and 5 are performed by the Consolidation Modeler and steps 1, 3, and 6 by the Entity Accountant:
Step | Description |
---|---|
1. Publish the data from the source system. | Check that the data fulfills these conditions:
|
2. The data is published to Data Lake by the source system. | The data must be in sync with Data Lake. |
3. Import the data into relational modeling. | Run load queries. The Infor EPM relational databases are fed data by Data Lake. In some integrations, such as Infor M3, an administrator performs data manipulations in the Staging database and then uses load queries to load data into the Infor EPM Integration database. |
4. Import the metadata into the structures in Business Modeling. | Import the metadata if there are changes in the metadata, such as, new accounts or entities. |
5. Publish the metadata to the OLAP database. | |
6. Load financial data into the Infor EPM business applications. | Typically, historical data such as actuals is loaded. Optionally, you can load the Exchange Rates data. |
