Enabling context-driven data protection for Financial Consolidation
When context-driven data protection for Financial Consolidation is enabled, data is controlled directly in the OLAP database and not just in Financial Consolidation. The standard OLAP security of multidimensional access cubes (MDACs) is used to protect data. The security of MDACs is used in combination with the OLAP data roles for Financial Consolidation and the status information from the application.
If context-driven data protection is enabled, you can change data only if the status of a specific context is Open, also in other applications such as Self-Service or Excel Integration. For Infor-provided data cubes, the data cannot be changed for the statuses of Not started, Submitted, and Closed.
Enabling and disabling the context-driven data protection option is available only to members of the Business Modeling Administrator role. The Financial Consolidation module must also be enabled.
