Configuring a planning workflow
Configuring a planning workflow includes selecting users who are responsible for completing and approving the planning step and specifying the due date for the step. The due date is displayed on the Tasks page.
When you enable organizational planning and select the Hierarchical Approval option for your planning step, then child elements in the organization dimension cannot have more than one parent element. This makes the approval process work correctly.
- Click the Home icon.
- Select Business Configuration > Configuration Set-specific Settings > Workflow Configuration.
-
In Context pane, click
the version to which the step applies.
The version and its configuration set are highlighted. The Workflow Tasks Overview section lists the applications for which planning steps are available, grouped by entity. The number of steps of each type of workflow is displayed, with icons that indicate the status of the steps.
- In the Configure column, click the arrow icon of the application to which the planning step belongs.
-
In the List of Workflow Steps, select the step to configure,
click Edit Step, and specify this
information:

-
If the hierarchical approval is enabled, configure the
approval.
Hierarchical approval is required for most steps in an object-based workflow in which the Hierarchical Approval option is selected. The only exception is where Hierarchical Approval is selected for the first step of a decision package top down. In that case, hierarchical task assignment is required for that step.
-
To publish a workflow task, select the step in the List of Workflow Steps and
click Publish.
When the task is published for the first time, blue tick mark appears in the Published column for relevant workflow step. After the publish action is finished, the workflow is started immediately. After the task is published, all following modifications for that step are re-published automatically.
