Configuration set definition

Defining a configuration set is the first step in a planning process. During a planning process, data is generated and written back to the database. The scope of the process must be correctly defined to meet these requirements:

  • All relevant data is included in the planning process.
  • Data cannot be written back to parts of the database which are not relevant to the plan.
  • Other, related, planning processes (sub plans) can access relevant data correctly.

A configuration set completely describes the scope of a planning process.

A configuration set is defined in logical steps in the configuration set definition wizard.

The Configuration Set Definition page lists existing configuration sets and versions. The Configuration Set Details pane shows details of a selected configuration set or version.

After you complete the configuration of your first version, the Configuration Set is started automatically.

Only not ended configuration sets are listed by default on the Configuration Set Definition page. Click the Settings icon and select Show All to see all configuration sets.

When you have defined a configuration set, you can perform either of these tasks:

  • Connect sub plans to Budgeting & Planning.
  • Configure financial planning.
