Configuring Analysis Dimensions of a Finance Budget workbook

Workbook Wizard enables you to configure Analysis, Decision Package, and, for applications that are based on Designer, Strategy dimensions.

  1. Click the Wrench to the right of the Analysis Dimensions to open the Configure Section dialog box.
  2. To add dimensions, click Select Item and then select the dimension you require.
  3. Optionally, select the Dimension Details check box to enable you to further configure the dimension.
    Continue this process to add more dimensions.
  4. To further configure the selected Analysis Dimensions, click Select Item next to the dimension, and then choose one of these options from the menu:
    1. Click Select elements to open the Select Element dialog box.
      You can then search for and filter elements using these functions:
      • To search for an element, enter a search term in the Find field.
      • To filter search results, click the Filter icon.
      • To set the filter to the previous result, click the Filter in previous result icon.
      • To reset the filter, click the Reset Filter icon.
      • To go to the next result, click the Find Next icon or to go to the previous result, click the Find Previous icon.
      • To switch the results to a check box view, click Use check boxes icon.
    2. Click Select by level to open the Select Elements by Level dialog box. Select the Level you want to use from the Level menu. Alternatively, select the Show All check box to show all levels.
    3. Click Select base elements to open the Select Base Elements dialog box. Select the Base Level you want to use from the Element menu. Alternatively, select the Show All check box to show all levels.
    4. Click Select elements underneath to open the Select Elements Underneath dialog box. Select the Level you want to use from the Element menu, then select the Type from the Type menu. Alternatively, select the Show All check box to show all levels.
    5. Click Select descendants to open the Select Descendants dialog box. Select the Parent you want to use from the Parent menu, then the Level you want to use from the Level menu, and then select the Flag from the Flag menu. Alternatively, select the Show All check box to show all levels.
    A preview of the elements you have selected is shown in the Preview section of the dialog box.
  5. Select the elements you want to use, then click OK.
    You can repeat Step 2 to add elements to other Analysis Dimensions.
