Asset Category tab

Use the Asset Category tab to specify costs for an asset category within a configuration set based on pre-defined accounts for the asset category. Asset categories are independent of financial planning step definition.

If a depreciation method was specified for the category, you can expand the category to view additional information by clicking the down arrow. The additional lines show:

• The account for the tax write off of the depreciation.
• The account for the depreciation value.
• The account for the cost of the asset.

When you specify a value and press Enter, the additional rows are updated to show their portion of the expense. This amount is determined by built-in calculations.
