Exporting a report definition to XML

You can export the definition of an individual report to a .xml file.

Exported reports have this behavior:

  • Formulas which are specific to Application Studio, such as ROC and ROA, are replaced by values. Other formulas are exported.
  • Hidden columns and rows are exported.
  • Areas of the report outside the visible area are exported as hidden columns and rows.
  • If conditional formats are used in the report, only the first three are exported.
  • Objects are not exported.
  1. In View mode, select the report to export.
  2. Select File > Export/Import > Export Report Definition (.xml)
  3. Specify a name for the file and the location to which to export it.
  4. Click Save.
