Inserting a series

You can copy cell values into other cells and, for example, increment them at the same time (the value is changed according to mathematical rules).

  1. Enter a value in a cell.
  2. Click the black handle at the bottom right corner of the cell and drag it in the downwards or across to select the cells into which to copy the value.
  3. Select Insert > Series.
  4. Specify the type of series, the amount by which it should increment and the final value.
    These options are available:
    Arithmetical
The values of the series are increased by the increment.
    Geometrical
Each value is the result of multiplying the previous value by the specified increment. For example, 5 with an increment of 2 produces this series: 5,10,20,40,80.
    Date
Select a time unit and the increment by which it should be increased.
    Direction
Select Rows to create the series in rows. Select Columns to create the series in columns.

Example

To create a list, counting in fives from zero to one hundred, enter 0 in a cell. Drag the cell handle downwards to select 20 rows. Select Insert > Series and select Arithmetical as the type. Set 5 as the Increment and 100 as the final value.
