Using variables to sort attributes

This example is based on the Samples application, which can be enabled in on-premises environments. It uses a hyperblock created from the Product dimension. The Samples application is not available in the Infor cloud.

This example uses the gv_SortingASCDESC variable created in the example Using a variable for sorting.

  1. In the List Designer click New Sorting Criterion.
  2. In Sorting Criteria Settings, select Type > Attribute.
  3. Select Order > <Edit Formula> and expand the list of global variables.
  4. Double-click the gv_SortingASCDESC variable to select it.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Select String as the data type.
  7. From the Attribute list select the attribute by which to sort.
