Importing an application component

An application component contains one or more reports and their supporting components, such as variables and styles.

Application components for Application Studio have the .app_reports file extension, but you can also import .biapplication files.

To import an application component:

  1. Right-click the root of the report catalog and select Export/Import > Import Application Component.
  2. Browse to the application component and click Open.
  3. If there are existing objects, you are prompted to select one of these options. to continue.
    Option Description
    Import object with new name The object is imported with a new name, leaving the existing object unchanged.
    Overwrite object The existing object is overwritten.
    Keep current object The new instance of the object is not imported. The existing object is unchanged.
