Application exports
With an export, you can package a full bundle of an application or only updates as
incremental or consolidated updates.
Applications can be versioned. When you export an application, you can define the package type, version number, and version that is required by the package to exist in the target system. The package type can be a full application or incremental or consolidated update.
You can exclude application capabilities from an export. By removing, for example, the Application Studio capability, you delete the Application Studio model from the application.
With an application export, all content of a custom application is exported into one file (.biapplication). You can import the file into another farm or tenant. The file contains this content:
- Application roles
- OLAP database
- Data roles
- Application Studio reports
- Dashboards
- Application Engine processes
- Configuration data such as data connections, settings, custom settings, and languages.
