Application permissions
This table shows the predefined application permissions and their
descriptions:
| Permission | Description |
|---|---|
| View Application | Bearers can view the application. |
| Edit Application | Bearers can edit the application properties, manage content
connections, add lists, calculations, variables, aliases, tasks, and
shared media. They can add, update and delete languages and database
descriptions. Note: To edit an application, the
View Application permission must also be granted.

| Administer Permissions | Bearers can manage the application permissions. Note: To administer permissions of an application,
the View Application permission must also be granted.

This table shows the Dashboard permissions and their descriptions:
| Permission | Description |
|---|---|
| View Dashboard | Bearers can view dashboards. |
| Edit Dashboard | Bearers can edit dashboards. Note: To edit
dashboards, the View Dashboard permission must also be
granted.

Note: To save dashboards, users require Edit Application permission in addition to View
Dashboard and Edit Dashboard permissions.
This table shows the OLAP permissions and their descriptions:
| Permission | Description |
|---|---|
| View OLAP | Bearers can log in to OLAP databases. |
| Import/Export Values | Bearers can perform mass operations on OLAP cube cell values. Note: To import values, the View OLAP and Write Values permissions must
also be granted. To export values, the View OLAP permission must
also be granted.

| Edit Dimensions | Bearers can edit dimensions of OLAP databases. Note: To edit
OLAP dimensions, the
View OLAP permission must also be granted.

| Edit Rules | Bearers can edit OLAP
rules. Note: To edit OLAP rules, the View OLAP permission must also
be granted.
|
| Administer OLAP Database | Bearers have all permissions to OLAP databases even on level of OLAP objects. |
| Write Values | Bearers can write values to an OLAP database. Note: To write
values, the View OLAP permission must also be
granted.

This table shows the Reporting permissions and their descriptions:
| Permission | Description |
|---|---|
| View Report | Bearers can view reports. |
| Edit Report | Bearers can edit reports. Note: To edit reports,
the View Report permission must also be granted.

| Browse Folders/Reports | Bearers can browse folders and reports. Without this permission, users can only navigate by using dashboards, or report jumps. |
| Use Ad-hoc | Bearers have access to ad-hoc reporting capabilities in an application. Users can create, edit, and view widgets with the ad-hoc functionality. |
This table shows the relational modeling permissions and their descriptions:

| Edit OLAP Mappings | Bearers can create, import, and export mappings. Note: To edit OLAP mappings, the View OLAP Mappings
permission must also be granted.

| View OLAP Mappings | Bearers can run mappings through scripts. Note: To access the Mappings Overview dashboard and run mappings from the
dashboard, the Edit OLAP Mappings permission must also be
granted.

| Edit Relational Objects | Bearers can create, edit, and delete, tables, load queries, and
scripts. Note: To edit relational objects, the
View Relational Objects permission must also be
granted.
