Creating a connection

You must establish a connection to the integration database before you can import dimension and cube data.

  1. In Designer, expand System.
  2. Select Connections.
  3. Click New in the right pane.
  4. Specify a name for the connection. For example, depm_integration.
  5. Click the Wizard button.
  6. Click the Connection tab and select the server computer for the integration database.
  7. Specify the connection information to Microsoft SQL Server and select the Allow saving password check box.
  8. Select the database on the server where the data integration for the Base Data Store scripts and tables reside.
  9. Test the connection.
  10. Exit Designer.
