Defining the configuration set

You define configuration sets in the Create New Configuration Set Wizard.

  1. Click the Home icon.
  2. Select Business Configuration > Configuration set-specific Settings > Configuration Set Definition.
  3. Click New Configuration Set.
  4. Specify a name for the configuration set.
  5. Specify the name of the version in which to store the data that will be submitted for approval. When you create a configuration set, the version type is always a budget. When you create a configuration set, you can create, for example, a fiscal forecast version from a budget version.
  6. Select the check boxes to specify whether the version includes organizations, intercompany relations, or schedules.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Select the year in which the configuration set starts.
  9. Select the number of years in the configuration set. The maximum length is 60 years.
  10. To specify the time level at which to plan for each year, click Year and select Year, Quarter, or Month. For example, you might plan on monthly values in the first year, quarterly values in the second, and yearly values in subsequent years.
  11. Click Next and assign currencies to entities. Click Not Set in the Currency column and select a currency for the entity.
  12. If the configuration set includes organizations, click Next. By default, all organizations are active in the configuration set. The use of organizations is required.
  13. To create new positions through decision packages and to request their approval and include their costs directly into the main finance budget, activate the Analysis 06 dimension.
  14. Select the entity.
  15. To deactivate or activate all organizations, select or clear the check box of the top-level organization.
  16. To search for an organization, specify its name and press Enter.
  17. Click Finish.
