Migrating OLAP databases

Before migrating the OLAP database, ensure that all required users have been created in the Users and User groups dashboard and all required roles have been created in the Data Roles or Application Roles dashboards.

The _#_SYSUSR dimension, which is used for workflow and comments, is updated when Designer recreates the OLAP database. If the users are not available, data for missing users is dropped.
The _GRP dimension, which is used for data access permission, and for group tasks, is updated when the database starts with the roles that exist in the application. If the roles are not available, the GRP elements are dropped, losing data defined for them.

Save the Infor BI 11 OLAP database to make sure all data are stored to disk.
Create a .zip file of the folder of the OLAP database to migrate. The .zip file must have a flat structure with no sub folders.

Note: On import, the db.ini file is ignored. No settings are imported.
In EPM Administration version 12.0.x, select Dashboards > OLAP > OLAP Databases to import the zip file to the target OLAP database.
Select Databases > OLAP > Database Setting to check the database settings which are not transported by the .zip file import.
