Migrating dashboards

You can migrate dashboards by exporting them to a file and then importing them. Content connections are automatically created during import.

You can export to these types of file:

  • *.dashboards

    Created when you use the Export Dashboards option in the Share menu in Dashboards. *.dashboards files do not support dashboard permissions and settings.

  • *.app_dashboard

    Created when you package an application in EPM Administration.

    *.app_dashboard files support dashboard permissions and settings.

  1. Use Dashboards 11.0 to export dashboards from the Infor BI 11.0 repository to a *.dashboards file.
  2. Go to Dashboards version 12.0.x and connect to the target application.

    There is already a content connection to the report catalog of the application. Add additional content connections, if required.

  3. Import the *.dashboards file.
  4. During import, select already existing content connections for the imported widgets, where applicable. Let the import create new content connections as necessary.
    WebServices version 11.0 content connections are automatically converted to Application Studio Service version 12.0.x content connections.
  5. Adjust the connection definition for content connections that have been created by the import.
