Example 1: Migrating report permissions

Only application roles can be used to define report permissions.

If you create the application role in the target application before importing the reports, the report permissions for that role are kept during import.

The same principle works for roles in dashboards.

In this example, a report catalog role named Sales is defined in Infor BI 11.0. The report permissions are designed so that Sales reports are visible in Application Studio for that role.

  1. Export the Application Studio reports, including their permissions.
  2. In the target application, create a new application role with the name Sales, with global permissions for reporting.
  3. Import the reports in Application Studio.
    The permissions for the Sales role are imported.
