Infor OS, IFS and ION API

IFS is a part of Infor OS. For Active Directory synchronization (using ADFS), customers can use the Lite version of Infor OS.

Prerequisites to use IFS authentication in the web

These are the prerequisites that you must meet for IFS:

  • You must enable Windows authentication on the Internet Information Services (IIS). This allows you to create a trusted relationship between different Windows domains, and successful connection between Infor EPM and IFS server.
  • Have the correct certificates for the required servers available before you connect IFS.
  • IFS requires that HTTPS is used for these public URLs of the farm:
    • Public URL for Dashboards
    • Public URL for Office Integration
  • The user that runs the Service Expert and the accounts that run Service Controller and the Infor EPM services must be registered in IFS. The users must be assigned to the AttributeServiceCaller role.
  • The Infor Ming.le/IFS certificate must be trusted on the Infor EPM servers to complete the Infor EPM configuration.

If IFS authentication in the web is used, the client application can use either basic authentication or IFS authentication.

Using IFS authentication in desktop and mobile clients

If IFS authentication is used for local installation, you can select how users must be authenticated.

If IFS authentication is used for cloud-tenant, you can use basic authentication only.

If IFS authentication is used in the desktop, you must configure ION API.

If basic authentication is used, ION API configuration is not required.

For configuring IFS and ION API, see the Infor OS documentation on docs.infor.com.
