Software update

You can update, upgrade or install a patch to an existing Infor EPM 12.0.x environment.

These rules apply:

Do not uninstall or remove a farm when installing an update or patch. Previous content from Infor standard applications or from custom applications can be used in a newer version. We assume that you followed these rules:
- You worked with copies of content, not with the original content.
- All content that you created, including roles and permissions, are prefixed with cust_ in the unique names.
When you upgrade your farm, a warning message might be displayed when you run Service Expert for the first time. Click Apply if the security changes are required.
When you upgrade your farm from a version with the DataLink Service installed, you must manually uninstall the DataLink Service.
When you upgrade your farm from version 12.0.9 or older, you must manually uninstall the Dashboards Service.
When you upgrade your farm from version 12.0.9 or older, you must manually remove the web applications for the Dashboards Service and Office Integration Service, using the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
Back up your data before you install the patch or a new version of the software.

Note: When your existing environment is a classic Infor BI version 11, you cannot run an update procedure. You must complete a migration procedure.
