Tasks on the source server

  1. Ensure that you do not have checked out objects or any pending operations in Application Studio.
  2. In EPM Administration, select Dashboards > Applications Administration > Applications and ensure that all your applications run properly.
  3. Export the master keys file from the source farm. To export the file, perform one of these actions:
    Option Description
Service Expert Open the Service Expert. On the Global Security tab, in the Master Keys section, click Save to File. Browse to the location in which to store the master keys file.
Command line Run this command with Admin permissions:
    C:\Program Files\Infor\BI\Tools\Infor.BI.Service.Console --job=export-master-keys --master-keys-target-file=C:\temp\master.keys
    Caution:
Master keys are top-level encryption keys that are used to encrypt all sensitive data within the farm. Ensure that the keys are backed up and saved in a secure place, and that you remember the password used to protect the file in case you ever need to recover your farm data. If you lose access to the master keys, for whatever reason, then neither you nor Infor can regain access.
  4. Copy the Connection.farmprofile file from the source server.
By default, the Connection.farmprofile file is installed to the Documents folder. For example, C:\Users\your name\Documents.
  5. Open C:\Program Files\Infor\BI\config\Farm.config and copy the farm ID to the clipboard.
  6. In Service Expert, stop the Service Controller manually. This stops all registered services.
  7. Copy the content of these OLAP directories: Database central directory, Backup directory, and Local directory. The locations of these directories are shown on the Directories tab of the Service Expert.
  8. Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and back up these databases:
    • BIFarmConfig
    • BIFarmLog
    • BIFarmRepository
    • EPMStaging
    • BIFarmConsolidation
    • BIFarmModel
Note: If you have the Designer-based business applications installed, create a backup of the DEPMChange, DEPMDesign, and DEPMInteg databases. If you have the Business Modeling-based business applications installed, create a backup of the BIFarmModel and BIFarmConsolidation databases.
