Relational database providers

Infor EPM can connect to a variety of data sources for use as a business database.

To connect to a database, run commands and retrieve results, a database provider is required. For example, for Microsoft SQL the database provider for SQL is required.

See "Relational database systems" in the Hardware and Software Recommendations section for information on which providers are supported as business databases.

For information on how to add a relational database provider see "Adding a relational database provider" in the EPM Administration section.

You must install the SQL native driver on the Infor EPM server. There is no native client for SQL server 2019. You must install the SQL Server Native Client version 14.0 which is supported for SQL server 2019. The SQL Server Native Client version 11.0 is not supported for SQL server 2019.

For optimal performance, make sure these Microsoft SQL Server protocols are enabled.

  • Shared Memory
  • Named Pipes
  • TCP/IP

Users who must access business databases that are used for Application Studio reports require these roles:

  • db_datareader
  • db_datawriter
