Overview of Infor EPM data integration
Staging tables enable you to tailor tables to your needs and are typically used for transformations and data cleansing before loading data to Integration tables. Integration tables have a fixed structure that cannot be changed and which fits the needs of the Infor EPM business applications.
Financial data and structures are published from integration tables to OLAP through Business Modeling. Business Modeling is the tool within Infor EPM business applications to model the application structures. Business Modeling ensures the consistent handling of all business-related structures.
Infor EPM business applications use the Infor EPM OLAP database to store financial and workforce data.
The Designer-based application uses the Designer thick client to create and publish structure and data to the OLAP cubes of the application. The Business Modeling application uses Business Modeling to publish structure and data to the OLAP cubes.
The Designer-based application is available only for on-premises deployments. The Business Modeling application is available for on-premises and cloud deployments.
This diagram shows a flow of data between a source system and Infor EPM for on-premises deployments:
The source system data is loaded directly to Infor EPM with the ImportMaster tool or relational modeling.
Sending data from Infor EPM back to a source system is not possible for on-premises deployments.
