Exporting a process package

Select Repository > Export or click Export on the toolbar. The Select Process dialog opens. The dialog shows a list of processes that are stored in the application database of the farm. It also displays which processes are protected.

To filter the available processes by category, select a category from the drop-down list or select * to display all available processes.

To search for a special process in a category or in all available processes, specify its name in the Process Name field.

Select the Show only latest process version check box, to show the latest process versions. If you clear the check box, all process versions are shown.

To select all processes, click Select All. To select only special processes, select the check boxes of the processes to export. To cancel the selection, click Deselect All.

To start the export of the selected processes as a package, click OK.

In the Application Package Type dialog, specify the type and the method of the content package export and click OK.

Select Content Package Type

Select the content package type from the drop-down list:

Full: The package contains complete content for the application. It can be used to reinstall the application or upgrade it to a newer version.
Incremental: The package contains only content that has been updated since the previous version. It can be used to deliver patches to an application.
Cumulative: The package merges several incremental updates. It can be used to deliver major updates to applications.

Overwrite content at import

Removes the existing processes and sets the versions numbers of the processes included in the content package to 1 when the package is imported.

If an import of a Full package has the overwrite option, then all the processes' versions which were part of the application and were in a repository before the import are removed. This Full package behavior applies only when installing the application update in EPM Administration. Import of a Full package through Process Editor has the same rules as imports of Incremental or Cumulative packages.

For imports of Incremental or Cumulative packages with the overwrite option, processes which were part of the application and were in a repository are removed only if the importing package contains their new version.

Make processes protected at import

Activates protection for the processes of the content package at import. The setting is applied to the package as a whole, that is, to all exported processes.

Verify package and mark it as verified

The content package is verified and marked as verified. You can select this option when Overwrite content at import is activated for the package type Full. You cannot select this option, if the content package type is Incremental or Cumulative.

Note: Import of an application with a verified package is less time-consuming because the verification during the import can be skipped.

Create cloud enabled package

If you import non cloud verified packages in cloud environments, the verification process is not skipped during the import.

You can select this option when Verify package and mark it as verified is activated. You cannot select this option, if the content package type is Incremental or Cumulative.

In the Save As dialog, navigate to the storage location, specify the file name of the package and click Save.

The process package file is stored with file type *.app_processes. You can import and use the exported process package to other application databases. In Application Studio, you can use these processes to define actions that are performed on cells, buttons, list views, and reports. All processes that have been published are available in Application Studio.
