Protected, custom, and restricted content

The extent to which applications can be customized and extended depends on whether an application is a custom application, a protected Infor application, or a restricted Infor application.

The type of application also restricts the features and functions that can be used in customized content.

Infor EPM can be provisioned with or without the option to create applications. If the option is enabled, you can create applications and customize and extend them as you require. These applications are identified, in the Applications dashboard in EPM Administration, by the value Full in the Customization property.

Infor protected applications are identified, in the Applications dashboard, by the value Protected in the Customization property. Protection prevents you from deleting or amending content, and from changing permissions on commercial roles.

With sufficient permissions, you can create new folders and add widgets from the widget catalog to create new dashboards. Or, you can use Self-Service to create your own charts. You can combine widgets from different applications in one dashboard if you create content connections to those applications. If you store your customized content in the folders of the application, it inherits the permissions of those folders. Alternatively, create your own folders and manage the permissions yourself.

Infor restricted applications are identified, in the Applications dashboard, by the value Restricted in the Customization property. Customization and extension is restricted, to enable updating without user intervention.
