Using actions to jump to other reports

Here, actions are used to create a shortcut menu of hyperlinks for navigating between reports.

  1. Select a cell near the top of the worksheet and specify Click Me.
  2. Right-click the cell and select Define Action.
    The Define Action dialog opens.
  3. From the Mode list in the Actions section, select Shortcut menu on left-click.
  4. Specify =TRUE as the condition and Jump as the type.
  5. In the Inputs section of the dialog, select the report to jump as the value of the Target Report.
The value of the Command Text is Report Name.
  6. In the Actions section, double-click <New Action>.
  7. Specify Shortcut menu on left-click as the mode of the new action.
  8. In the Inputs section, set the Target Report to a second report.
  9. In the same way, add a third jump with a third report as the target.
  10. In Design Mode, save the report.
  11. In View Mode, click ’Click Me’ to drop-down the list of earlier reports. Click a report name to go to that report. Use the Previous button in the toolbar to return to the previous report or select it in the Report Catalog.
