Segment configuration

Before you configure segments, ensure that segment dimensions are activated through Application Configuration > General Settings > Activate Modules.

To configure segment elements, select Business Configuration > Configuration set-specific Settings > Segment Configuration.

You can enable up to three segments for each configuration set. For example, three segments might represent types of item, regions, and sales channels. You must specify which elements of the segments to activate for which entities in the configuration set.

You must use at least one segment for Sales planning.

The method to activate segment elements depends on how many segments are enabled. These rules apply:

  • If no segment is enabled, click the segment that you want to activate for the selected context.
  • If one segment is enabled, select the segment elements to activate. To deactivate or activate all segment elements, clear or select the Active check box of the top-level element.
  • If two segments are enabled, they are displayed as a matrix. The elements of one segment form the rows and the elements of the other segment form the columns. To activate segment elements, select the check boxes at the intersections of the columns and rows.
  • If three segments are enabled, the elements of the first and second segments are displayed in a matrix. To activate segment elements of the third segment, drag and drop the third segment onto the matrix. Then, select the check boxes at the intersections of the columns and rows.
