Configuring security types in the Standalone farm

  1. Select an authentication type for Service-to-service security. Optionally, select the Use SSL/TLS Encryption check box and create or import a certificate.
  2. Select an authentication type for API security. If OAuth is enabled as the authentication type for API security, the Download Keys button downloads a file with keys for these services, which have an external API:
    • Administration Service
    • Application Engine Service
    • Application Studio Service
    • Dashboards Service
    • Repository Service
Click Download Keys to export the OAuth keys. The keys are required for ION API configuration. You can download keys to a text file. The default name is OAuthKeys_<computer name>.txt.
Note: Optionally, select Use SSL/TLS Encryption and create or import a certificate. If you select the Use SSL/TLS Encryption check box, then it also enables the SSL/TLS encryption for Client access security.
  3. In Web access security, specify this information:
    • Select the authentication type.
Note: If you select IFS as the authentication type for Web access security, then you are prompted to set additional settings for Client access security. You must also specify additional settings for IFS.
Note: If you select LDAP as the authentication type for Web access security, then it is also set as the authentication type for Client access security and cannot be changed there.
    • You can select the Use SSL/TLS Encryption check box and create or import a certificate.
  4. Select an authentication type for Client access security. IFS is selected by default.
Note: The additional settings for Client access security are enabled only when you select IFS as the authentication type for Web access security.

If you select IFS as the authentication type for Client access security, then you are prompted to set additional settings for IFS and configure ION API.

For configuring ION API, see the "Installation" section.

The Use SSL/TLS Encryption check box is disabled by default. If you select this check box in the API security section, then it is also selected in Client access security.
