Filters widget
You can access the widget from the content connection.
The widget consists of an element picker and a filter, which you can use to filter data on your dashboard.
Element Picker
You can use the widget on your dashboard to select an element and apply the selection to multiple widgets on your dashboard.
For example, place a chart displaying sales by region, and the
                element picker on your dashboard. Configure the element picker to display Years from
                the Period hierarchy. When you select a particular year in the element picker, the
                chart shows data for the year that you selected. 
            Note: The parameters
                    that are used in widget communication are detected automatically if you use the
                    default elements of the hierarchy when adding new widgets. 
- Data Source
 - Select the cube and the corresponding database.
 - Hierarchy
 - Select the hierarchy and select elements or level.
 - Properties
 - Modify the title and description of your widget. You can also enable the zero suppression option.
 
Filter
You can use the widget to apply your element selection across multiple hierarchies to other widgets on your dashboards.
- Data Source
 - Select the cube and the corresponding database.
 - Filters
 - Define filters and select elements for each filter
                        hierarchy. Additionally, you can use the check boxes to choose whether all
                        filter hierarchies are visible in your widget.Note: If there are multiple hierarchies available for a dimension, you can click the currently selected hierarchy and select . Multiple hierarchies are indicated by a triangle.
 - Properties
 - Modify the title and description of your widget. You can also enable the zero suppression option.
