Object definition tables and publication of models

The object definition tables of the Staging database are metadata tables that form the relational storage schema for modeling.

You use the object definition tables to define the objects of an OLAP database. These include cubes, dimensions, attributes, hierarchies, subsets, rules, data roles, and access cubes.

Some of the object definition tables are linked to data tables. Data tables are stored in the same database as the metadata tables to enable relational queries and scripts to manipulate the metadata. The data tables are used to provide elements, relationships, attribute values, facts, and permissions.

After publishing, a model is available in the OLAP database.
