Elements, parameters, and custom settings in cube mappings

Fields of a cube mapping that accept element names also accept parameters and custom settings.

You can use elements, parameters, and custom settings in these columns of the data area of a cube mapping:

  • Source Column Filter
  • Target Element Name
  • Clear Cube Area
  • Element if not Found
  • Element if Empty
Note: Only the Source Column Filter column and Clear Cube Area column accept both single and multiple elements. The remaining columns accept single elements.

Use these formats to specify elements, multiple elements, parameters, and custom settings:

  • The name of a single element
  • The names of multiple elements, separated by the pipe symbol (|). For example Direct Sales|Indirect Sales
  • The name of a single-value custom setting, in the format @CustomSettings.customsetting_name
  • The name of a multi-value custom setting, in the format @@CustomSettings.customsetting_name
  • The name of a single-value parameter, in the format @parameter_name
  • The name of a mult-value parameter in the format @@parameter_name
