Editing dashboard content

In Edit mode, you can reorganize the existing dashboard content or add new content to your dashboard. To add content, drag widgets, widget copies, or WebView widgets and drop them on your dashboard.

Widgets display a preview when dragged. The preview indicates where the widget is placed when dropped and its dimensions.

  1. To edit content on an existing dashboard, tap the Edit icon on the application toolbar.
New dashboards are automatically in Edit mode. If you add content to an existing dashboard, and you have edit permission, the dashboard is in Edit mode.
  2. Tap the Add Content button and drag and drop a widget on your dashboard.
  3. Optionally, drag and drop the existing widgets to change their positions on the dashboard.
You can drop a widget in a variety of ways:
    Drop point Description
Empty space If you drop the widget when its preview is displayed, the dropped widget is resized to fit the space indicated by the preview.
Existing widget If you drag a widget over another widget and drop it, the widgets swap places. Or, if you drag a widget from a content connection and drop it over another widget, it replaces the existing widget.
Widget hotspot If you drop a widget on the hotspot that is on the edge of an existing widget, the dropped widget cuts the existing widget in half.
Between widgets To insert a widget between two widgets, drag the widget, with one finger, over the border where the widgets touch. And then add a second finger. The added widget retains its dimensions, or shrinks if there is not enough space for the other widgets to be pushed away.
Edge hotspot If the hotspot is on an edge of the dashboard, the dropped widget snaps to the edge and occupies half of the available space.
Corner hotspot If you drop a widget over the hotspot that is in the corner of the available space, the widget occupies all available space.
  4. To push one widget with another, use two fingers to drag one widget against another. If a widget is pushed against an edge of the dashboard, it is compressed.
  5. To change the size or properties of the widget, tap it.
The selected widget displays blue border, handles at its corners and edges, and the widget's toolbar. The widget's toolbar contains these options:
    • Interact: Interact with the widget content.
    • Widget properties: Access the properties of a widget.
    • Copy widget: Save a widget copy.
    • Remove: Remove the widget from your dashboard.
