Data area clearance

If you load new data for a specific context, you lose the previously imported data and the calculated results for that context. A context is the combination of the configuration set, version, period, entity, and level that is configured for data import. The level is configured for data import if the Import attribute for the Level element is set to True. Data that does not match the selected context, including the level that is configured for data import, is not lost.

Example 1

There is data in a Financial Consolidation cube for a specific context of the configuration set, version, period, entity, and Imported Data level. In the BudgetingMain source integration table, there is a set of new data for the same context. The Imported Data level is configured for data import. That is, the Import attribute for the Imported Data level is set to True.

If you load new data for the same context, then the previously imported data for that context is deleted and replaced with new data from the BudgetingMain table.

Example 2

There are these two levels:

  • Imported Data
  • Custom Level

Both levels are configured for data import. That is, the Import attribute for those two levels is set to True.

There is data in a Financial Consolidation cube for a specific context of the configuration set, version, period, entity, and Imported Data level, and for the same context but with the Custom Level. In the BudgetingMain source integration table, there is a set of new data for the context with the Imported Data level.

If you load new data for the context with the Imported Data level, then the previously imported data for that context is deleted and replaced with new data from the BudgetingMain table. Because there is no new data for the context with the Custom Level, then the data imported previously to the Custom Level is not lost.

A data area is cleared only for levels for which there is new data in the source table.
