Entities

You must add the required entities to a model manually, upload them from a file or import them from the related table of the integration database.

The Entities business object is usually a flat list but for reporting purposes, entities can be hierarchical. You can assign an entity to multiple parents only during a file upload or file import.

Configuring the Entities business object involves setting up entity types. These entity types are available:

  • Standard

A default setting. A standard entity is both an entity and an intercompany. Other entities can have relationships with a standard entity.

  • Intercompany Only

This setting means that an entity is only an intercompany and cannot be a reporting entity or part of ownership. This setting is published to the Intercompany dimension. An Intercompany Only serves as an internal partner to store intercompany details.

Note: You set up the ownership structure for legal and management groups by defining the relationships between the owner and the owned entity. This is done on the Legal Entity Ownership and Management Group Ownership pages in Financial Consolidation, not in Business Modeling.
