Creating application components

You can create an Infor EPM application component to preserve your Dashboards content and selected settings. After you have created an application component, use the Application Composer to create a custom Infor EPM application. Your custom application can be then added using Dashboards.

  1. Select Share > Create Application Component.
  2. Select the type of application component to create:
    Option Description
Self-contained application The package contains complete content for the application. It can be used to reinstall the application or upgrade it to a newer version.
Incremental application update The package contains only content that has been updated since the previous version. It can be used to deliver patches to an application.
Cumulative application update The package merges several incremental updates. It can be used to deliver major updates to applications.
  3. Select the dashboards and folders to export and click Next.
A list of all possible content connections to be exported is displayed. Content connections used by the exported dashboards are mandatory and they are preselected. You can optionally add more content connections to the exported package.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Select the languages in which to export translated text and click Next.
  6. Select which of these settings to include in the application component.
    • Start screen

For cumulative application update, you can specify the dashboard that is displayed initially when the application is accessed.

  7. Click Next.
The detailed information about the dashboards, folders, content connections, languages, and settings is displayed.
  8. Optionally, click Save Configuration to a File to save the configuration to an XML file for future reference.
You can open the XML file and access the information about your component.
  9. Click Finish.
The dashboard content, selected content connections, and settings are downloaded to a file with a .app_dashboards extension.
