Model updates
Model updates can occur with the release of a new version. For example, additional
elements in the system dimensions or additional dimensions and cubes for new global modules.
These updates are applied by updating the model in Designer.
The update automatically starts when you open Designer in a new release version. We recommend that you create a backup of the OLAP database before migrating to a new version and starting Designer.
In Designer, select to complete the update process. In the Create Database dialog box, select Recreate entire database and click . This recreates the model and applies the required changes to the OLAP database.
