Copying an allocation configuration

Allocations can be time-consuming to plan and configure. To reduce this time, you can copy an allocation configuration from one configuration set to another. An allocation configuration consists of all the steps within a configuration set, and their parameters. You can copy a complete configuration, or you can select the steps, parameters, and entities to copy.

When you copy a configuration, steps and parameters that exist in the source configuration set but not in the target are created.

  1. Click the Home icon.
  2. Select Applications > Financial Applications > Allocation > Configuration > Copy Parameter.
  3. Select the configuration set from which to copy the configuration and the target configuration set to which to copy it.
  4. Select the steps to copy and the steps to which to copy them. You can select multiple steps or All to copy all steps.
If you select a single step to copy, you can select a different target step to which to copy it. If you select multiple steps, you can copy them only to the same target steps, and you cannot select a source account or a source entity. All parameters of the selected steps are copied.
  5. Select the accounts from which to copy.
You cannot select target accounts that are different from the source accounts. If you select multiple accounts, you cannot select an entity, and the step target automatically matches the source step.
  6. Select the entity from which to copy and the entity to which to copy.
  7. Optionally, select Copy All Configuration. This option copies all steps, accounts and entities within the configuration.
  8. Click Initiate.

You can also copy a configuration from the Configuration and Parameterization Overview pages.
