Importing structure

You can import:

  • Entities
  • Organizations
  • Accounts
  • Analysis dimensions
  • Segment dimensions
  1. Click the Home icon.
  2. Select Application Configuration > General Settings > Data Integration for BDS.
  3. In the Base Data Store Database Connection section, complete these steps:
    1. Specify the server name.
    2. Specify the user name.
    3. Specify the password.
    4. Click Connect.
      A connection is established to the SQL Server computer where the Base Data Store database is hosted. The list is populated with databases that have been configured as Base Data Stores.
    5. Select the Base Data Store source system database.
  4. In the Integration Database Connection section, complete these steps:
    1. Specify the server name.
    2. Specify the user name.
    3. Specify the password.
    4. Click Connect.
      A connection is established to the SQL Server computer where the integration staging database is hosted. The list is populated with databases that match integration staging database schemas.
    5. Select the integration staging database.
  5. On the Structure Configuration tab, select the dimensions to use as structure from the source system.
    Entity
    Accounting entities in the BODs correspond to the Entity dimension in Infor EPM. The entity for the selected accounting chart must be included in the entity selection. You can select multiple entities.
    Accounting Chart
    The accounting chart sets the dimension code lists associated with the financial data. Only one accounting chart can be used. Only the accounting charts for the selected entities or accounting charts not associated with any entity are available for selection.

    Select the accounting chart code list to map to the BPDAnalysis_01 through BPDAnalysis12 dimensions.
    Organization Dimension
    Organization indicates which accounting chart code list is mapped to the BPDOrganization dimension.
    Primary Segment
    Select the accounting chart code list to map to the primary segment dimension.
    Secondary Segment
    Select the accounting chart code list to map to the secondary segment dimension.
    Tertiary Segment
    Select the accounting chart code list to map to the tertiary segment dimension.
  6. Click Load Source Structure.
    Status messages, including errors, display during the import. If there are no errors, the message Processing Finished displays.
  7. Start Designer.
  8. Connect to the integration database.
  9. Expand Configuration.
  10. Click Planning Settings.
  11. Click the Common Settings tab and find the integration import settings that represent the import feature:

  12. Select [Click here to import the dimensions of the Integration import].
  13. Select the source connection and import type. Optionally, you can import translations and attributes.
  14. Select the dimensions to import and click Import.
    Messages display in the Status pane as the dimensions are imported. Any error stops the process and prevents subsequent selected dimensions from being imported.
  15. Click the System Elements tab and select the top level accounts.
  16. Select File > Create Database.
  17. Select the Recreate entire database check box.
  18. Click OK to begin the process.
    It can take several minutes to complete and messages appear as it progresses. Sometimes it seems to pause as it is working and does not respond until the process is complete.
  19. If the configuration set does not exist, select Business Configuration > Configuration Set-specific Settings > Configuration Set Definition and create the configuration set.
