Specifying parameters with a driver

To specify parameters with a driver:

  1. On the Parameterization Overview page, select a base account.
By default, All Accounts is selected in the Account list and all previously created parameters are displayed. If you do not select a base account here you are prompted to select a base account if you add a parameter.
  2. If you selected Separated per Entity for the selected account on the Define Entity to Account Relation page, then select the entity to be affected.
If you selected All Entities on the Define Entity to Account Relation page, the allocation affects the selected account in the same way for each entity. It is not necessary or possible to select an entity. All Entities is the default.
  3. Click New Parameter.
  4. Select the version from which to allocate.
  5. Select the source allocation type.
The version is applicable only to the Fixed Amount and % of data area allocation types.
  6. Select the discharge method.
  7. Specify the amount, percentage, or factor to allocate, according to the selected allocation type.
  8. By default, Organizations is selected as the source reference dimension. Click Reset Reference Dimensions to change the reference dimension.
The source reference dimension is automatically applied to the target. If you use a driver, the driver reference is applied to the target instead.
  9. Optionally, specify the source data area by selecting elements from the reference dimension and the data area source dimensions.
If you do not select an element from a dimension, the top level element of that dimension is used.
  10. Click the Driver check box.
  11. Select the version to use as the driver.
  12. Do one of the following:
    • Click in the Driver box and select a manual driver. Optionally, specify the driver data area.
    • Select a reference dimension and define a data area. By default, Organizations is selected as the reference dimension. Click Reset Reference Dimensions to change the reference dimension.
  13. In the Target section, select the version to receive the allocation.
  14. Select the target allocation type.
  15. Optionally, click the Alternate Target Configuration icon and specify a data area to receive the allocation if the specified target area has a value of zero.
  16. Optionally, specify the target data area by selecting elements from the reference dimension and the data area target dimensions.
If you do not select an element from a dimension, the top level element of that dimension is used.
