Entering sales data

By default, the Sales Planning data entry page contains two steps:

  • Sales and Costs
  • Cash Planning

If the cost plan has been flagged as a manufacturing plan, a Production Planning step is enabled in which you can specify data about production volumes.

Data entry for sales planning is configured in workflow. After it is assigned to users, tasks display in the task list.

  1. Click the Home icon.
  2. Click Tasks.
  3. Select a configuration set.
  4. Select a version. You can select multiple versions.
  5. Select an entity. You can select multiple entities.
  6. Click a task to open it.
  7. Click a link to display the segments which have been configured for external or internal customers.
  8. Select a segment.
    Links to the Sales and Costs and Cash Planning steps are displayed. A Production Planning step is displayed only if the cost plan has been flagged as a manufacturing plan.
  9. Select the Sales and Costs step.
    The data entry page for the step is displayed.
    Note: The Sales Planning page uses only the analytic template.
  10. Specify values for the step.
  11. Click the Back button in the toolbar to return to the Sales Start dialog box.
  12. Complete the Cash Planning step, and the Production Planning step if it is enabled.
  13. Click Publish data in the Sales Start dialog box to publish the plan.
    After transfer to the Profit and Loss account by a planning administrator, you can review the data in the Balance Sheet Analysis and Profit and Loss Analysis reports. You can update the data as necessary in Financial Planning.
